๐ Welcome to your new thread!
โฒ๏ธ We'll be here soon! Typically we respond in a few minutes, but sometimes we might take a bit longer if the server is busy or if you have a particularly tricky question.
โฑ๏ธ We close idle threads, which makes them read-only. Once a thread is closed it won't be reopened, but you can always start a new thread if you have another question.
๐ This thread will always be available, even after it's closed. You can find it again using Discord's search, or you can save this link: https://discord.com/channels/841573134531821608/1279171387767914539

I verified all that all objects returned by https://api.stripe.com/v1/terminal/configurations has offline:enabled:true set
Error bubbled up into an alert
Hi there ๐ taking a look
Stepping through things. First, can you confirm whether you have been granted access to this private beta?
https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/features/operate-offline/collect-card-payments?reader-type=internet#:~:text=The offline mode feature is in private beta
Typically my teammates and I in this forum aren't too familiar with private beta features, we mostly focus on GA'ed functionality. But I'm still looking to see if anything jumps out at me.
Can you share the ID of the Location you're using?
@floral osprey wanted to circle back real quick and see if you saw my above questions?

@floral osprey I just saw your negative feedback. I understand the frustration but we do help a lot of people in parallel here and we can't keep many threads opened at once. It's also part of our docs when you ask a question
โฑ๏ธ We close idle threads, so stick around. We provide realtime help on Discord, and can usually unblock you in just a few minutes. Once threads are resolved or idle they become read-only when we close them, and we don't reopen closed threads. If you have a new question use one of the buttons below to start a new thread. For long-running or async help send an email to Stripe support instead.
I made an exception here, but I do think it's reasonable to ask you to start a new thread, that one didn't have that much information yet. I get it's frustrating but it's kinda similar with most "live chats" experiences.
For longer async support, I recommend email support instead: https://support.stripe.com/contact
Thanks for the response. I just didn't have an expectation of how long "idle" means. I assumed hours
yeah that's fair, it's definitely not hours. We'd have 100 threads open in parallel if we did that (most people ask a question, get an answer and disappear)
Ultimately: how can I help?
First, do I need to use a different support mechanism since Offline is still beta?
okay so you're using an M2 so it's a bluetooth reader right? But you picked internet as the type of reader on that doc
I used M2 successfully (so I assume my account has access), I then tried to integrate an internet reader, but that's when I ran into issues
so my issue is with the internet reader
Okay, can you share
- Exact Reader model
- Exact Reader id in your account `tmr_123
- Exact Location id
tml_123
- HW NO: wsc50szz-z1-00p SN: WSC513124046182
- tmr_Fht5QU1ZbpOpIH
- tml_FUnQbgQdEhAggE
BBPOS WisePOS E
Not sure exactly what you were looking for with reader model
WisePOS E is what I wanted yes
Can you share the code where you connect to that reader locally?
I'm writing a dotnet Maui app in C# and I made custom bindings for it. Do you still want my c# code?
My reader connection and payment code has been working in production for almost a year. I'm just now implementing offline.
Ah this is going to make it near impossible for me to help if you on top of it have a non standard platform trying to do all of this.
I'm looking for a bit, but we also don't help with betas at all on Discord so no promises
I'm looking at your logs right now and you seem to use the version 3.1.0 of our Terminal iOS SDK but the docs say
To use offline mode, your application needs to consume version 3.3.0 or later of the Terminal iOS SDK.
did you upgrade in Test mode already?
The error I get says the reader isn't configured for Offline, I was hoping that you could at least see if something is misconfigured on my account or the backend
yep that's fair, I just know nothing about that beta so I'm kinda guessing right now
yes, I upgraded to 3.8.1 to start this integration
your logs right now and you seem to use the version 3.1.0 of our Terminal iOS SDK
that's really weird because I never targeted 3.1.0.
gotcha then I'm sorry but I have no idea so the only way to get more help will be to talk to our support team and get escalated to the right people to investigate https://support.stripe.com/contact
I've done 2.19, 3.2, 3.8.1
Is there a particular group for offline beta? When terminal apps were still in beta, they had their own group (apps-on-device@stripe.com) before it went GA.
no there is no such group you have to go through support and it will likely take multiple days to get an answer with the week end + bank holiday on Monday
fair enough. Thank you again for re-opening and taking the time to explain the expectations and looking into my issue
Sure, sorry I couldn't help more. We have a few Terminal experts on my team but bad luck they are on another timezone and no one is around on a Friday afternoon so I can't get you a better answer quickly
