hello! When creating the PaymentIntent, you should have passed on off_session=true if the customer is off_session
if the customer is on_session, then off_session=false is correct. However, it's up to the issuing bank whether 3DS is going to be required again

oh ok. we have both sorts of payments[on/off] . If a payment is made on onsession once, can this prompt be not happenign when we do the next on-session payment. trying to understand these multipel 3ds prompts could be a friction

no, it's not within yours or Stripe's control. It's up to the issuing bank
