What guidance are you looking for exactly?
Is something not doing what you expect, or are you trying to figure out what is possible?
Trying to figure out what is possible! With the goal in mind of checking that someone sending money is a unique person and not one person using multiple accounts, what do you recommend as the best solution?
Ideally it's something easier than full on KYC with a government ID. We'd be happy with just being able to check if someone is using their real legal name
Yea, I think something like an identity check is really the only way to do this with name
Because otherwise asking for a billing name is generally not verified
As an alternative, if you're paying with eg cards and bank accounts, you can check the payment method fingerprint to detect reused payment methods
(instead of names)
but that wouldn't prevent a person from eg paying twice with two different cards
