hi what error exactly?
hey @vale knoll
the error occurred after unifying the accounts
we had an account in ireland for EUR and one for GBP in the uk, and now we've switched to just one, but now it's giving me this error when I go to make a payment in GBP
yes; an account can use Terminal in its local currency( https://support.stripe.com/questions/stripe-terminal-country-and-currency-availability // https://docs.stripe.com/terminal/overview#:~:text=You can only collect payments in your local currency with supported card brands. ) so an IE account can only process Terminal payments in eur
yes it's only for Terminal/card_present payments
card_present is tap to pay? right?
it's Terminal, and tap-to-pay is part of Terminal yes
I see, and will this change in a while? or if I accept in 15 currencies do I need to create 15 different accounts?
no immediate plans to change it I'm aware of
Got it, thanks
to be accepting 15 currencies you probably would be operating in 15 different countries anyway, (remember it's an in-person payment, if I'm in Europe I'm only ever going to be paying in eur, I'm not going to want to pay in usd or something. It's not the same as operating an online store where anyone can visit from any country) which is quite a big undertaking with many regional offices of your business and multple Stripe accounts
