Entitlements have limited documentation. The video would be helpful.
We are interested in using entitlements for a non-subscription service. Is it possible to add non-subscription based entitlements?
Eg, a user purchases a product, and say we give this user the entitlement for 1 year?
Use case is we sell training videos. A user may purchase annual access. We do not want this to automatically renew, its just a single purchase. A year afterwards, their entitlement falls off the account.
Its not clear if this is only for subscriptions, or how this plays into one-off payments
Screenshot of the documentation for reference
The Entitlements API are used for Subscription use case. During the lifecycle of a customer’s subscription, from activation, through upgrades, downgrades, and so on, Stripe updates the customer’s entitlements based on your mapped features.
This can't be done with one-off payments
Have you tried opening the doc with Chrome or disable all plugins on the browser?
I'm able to view the video in Chrome
Hm, alright, I'll try Chrome. Is it working for you in Firefox? I am able to view other videos on the Stripe site, just this particular video doesnt seem to want to play.
I'm unable to view this video in Firefox too. I'll share the issue to the relevant team to fix the video
Thanks!
Also, I would just like to say, it would be really great if we could use features/entitlements on single product purchases, and just set an end date on the entitlement. This would simplify our process significantly.
We have built a custom solution for this, but this means we end up just using our local entitlement system as opposed to Stripe's.
This would be an amazing and killer feature, but limiting it to just subscriptions is a bit of a bummer. I trust you folks are hard at work and know better than me, but its almost at the point where we could forego an entire section of our crm/erp
Anyhow keep up the good work, thanks for the quick response
Thanks for sharing the feedback! Can I suggest you writing to Support https://support.stripe.com/contact/email, so that they can share the feedback to the relevant team?
