Hi, no there is not a way to do that directly. You would need to calculate the amount and pass the amount after the fees. However, you can set who pays for the fee when creating the Connected Account: https://docs.stripe.com/connect/direct-charges-fee-payer-behavior#selecting-billing-behaviour.
I'll be honest I find that document amazingly opaque.
I'm not a payments expert and I just need to know how to accomplish what I need to. I need someone paying $10 + $1 (platform fee) to end up receiving $10 - $0.30 - ( 10 * 0.029), and us to receive $1 - ($1 * 0.029).
Then in that case, you can pass the $.70 in the application fee.
The above documentation is talking about how you can control who pays the fees between the Platform and the Connected Account. In this case, you want the Platform account to pay and that document explains how you can achieve that.
