Hi ๐
We maintain the stripe-react-native package that allows you to incorporate Stripe provided elements into your React Native application. I think this does require you to be using Stripe as a payments processor though.
AFAIK we have no involvement in the react-native-payments package or it's sunsetting. That would be up to that package's maintainer.
Thanks, but would you agree if that is the case, it seems rather odd and the maintainers of the previous project, that was completely payment-processor agnostic, would all of the sudden be pointing users to your package, knowing well and good that in order to use it explicitly requires the use of stripe as your payment processors?
I have no opinion on it
Why wouldn't stripe just maintain an agnostic component that just functions using the native sdk's for the payment sheet?
I cannot speak to that either. Even our current RN SDK came out of a pet project by one mobile engineer. We actively support it but it wasn't something we originally planned.
And I can only offer advice on how to intregrate with Stripe products and APIs
Alright, thank you
That mobile engineer doesn't happen to be the engineer who maintained react-native-payments, does it?
I would not know
Ok. You've been most helpful ๐
