Stripe doesn't de-duplicate the payment method. After saving a payment method with Stripe, a Payment Method ID (pm_xxx) will be created. This payment method ID can be used directly for a payment instead of collecting card details again: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/save-and-reuse?platform=web&ui=elements#charge-saved-payment-method
