Hi there, Adaptive Pricing requires the currency for your prices to be the same as your default settlement currency (ref: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/checkout/adaptive-pricing#restrictions ), but you set the currency to USD.
What exactly defines my settlement currency? My prices are all indexed in USD, so it would be very convenient if I could define them directly in USD, but also support adaptive pricing
https://docs.stripe.com/payouts?account-country=BR#supported-accounts-and-settlement-currencies BRL is the supported settlment currency for users in Brazil
Is there any way I can have USD as a settlement currency while not residing in the US? As I depend on setting my prices in USD (for basically all effects its a foreign business), it would be really convenient being able to directly set the prices in USD.
Setting them in BRL is possible but would just be an extra headache
This settlement currency limitation really does feel like a headscratcher, if I'm forced to set my prices in BRL for adaptive pricing to work, it would likely just lead me to implement my own price conversion mechanism so I can continue to support purchases in USD
No, USD isn't a settlement currency for accounts based in Brazil.
You can consider creating a US account. You can also use Stripe Atlas to create a US entity if you don't have one yet.
I see. Does stripe ask for residency in the US to manage creating a US account, or its possible even residing abroad?
