@grand depot nothing really, the Invoice can sgtill be paid so that's up to you. If you void the Invoice then the balance would be reverted back. You can test all of thius end to end in Test mode
I've tried this on this invoice, upon which I've marked the invoice as Uncollectible. in_1PnqULFOrEmR4dyhwl9YolEt
When looking at the customer's credit balance, I do not see the $2 balance being reverted.
yes that's entirely expected since you did uncollectible and not void

Besides that behavior, are there any other notable differences between Uncollectible and Void that you can share?
The docs seem to indicate it's mainly for differentiating for accounting purposes, but I'm wondering about differences in the payment behavior like you indicated with credit balances.
void can't be paid for example. But other than that nothing specific comes to mind
