hi! you'd listen to the checkout.session.completed event instead and do all your handing in that instead. https://stripe.com/docs/payments/checkout/fulfill-orders The metadata is on the checkout_session object in this case.

is this the only webhook that will propagate the metadata I provided when creating the setup session?

yes, the metadata is on the checkout_session object
if you want to save it onto the PaymentMethod so you can see it later when retrieving/listing PMs, you can call the Update PaymentMethod API while handling the checkout.session.completed event and set metadata on the PM object to the value of metadata on the CheckoutSession object
