just for additional reference - Stripe's API docs for creating a Connect Account are what indicate that default_currency can "be any currency the country supports"

@timid stone I don't think that's possible unless they have an external account added in that currency. Some of this changed recently. I'd recommend talking to our support team for 1:1 help for this instead, sorry to redirect you: https://support.stripe.com/contact
gotcha. that's actually my real goal, to allow them to add an external account in that currency (USD), i just was hoping default_currency might be the solution. For some reason we don't see an option to add a bank account in any currency but CAD for them.
I asked Stripe Support a related question, so I'll follow up there
yeah I know we changed some of the settings around this in the past couple of years and I think it's best to ask our support team for guidance there
