can you send a screenshot of the memo you're seeing in the Dashboard? We don't use it very often
Sure
All future invoices will have that Invoice Memo on them. This allows me to add a memo before the invoice is created.
You can set a default memo here: https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/settings/billing/invoice
In the API there's also custom fields you can set to be shown on the Invoice: https://docs.stripe.com/api/invoices/create#create_invoice-custom_fields
But I don't see anything that specifically maps to the memo in the Dashboard via the API

Thank you, the issue with those is that the invoice is not created by the Stripe backend until just before the invoice is due, so I can't modify it until then. I'm trying to have something set prior to the invoice being created.
With your first option, is there a way to set a custom invoice for a specific subset of Customers only by using a different template?
Unfortunatelly not, no. If you're using Subscriptions you would need to edit each invoice as it's created. This can be done programmatically, of course, but the only option to change them ahead of time would be to update the global Invoice settings for your whole account
Thank you, final question, when does the invoice get emailed to the user?
I want to make sure if I modify the invoice memo right after the invoice.created webhook is received, that would be quick enough to be part of the email sent to the customer.
