Payment Element supports redirect and direct payment methods. return_url is needed for redirect payment method such that the customer can be redirected to after making successful payment at the payment method page, e.g. PayPal.
For non-redirect payment method, you will be able to receive response in stripe.confirmPayment() which can then find paymentIntent object for its status
thanks, if i use stripe.confirmPayment() do i just keep looping through it until I get either an error ot success?
as it stands now, when i enter the payment card details and hit submit I have no idea what is actually being done.
does stripe.confirmPayment() initialise the payment process?
No loop is required. If the payment is completed for non-redirect payment method, there will be a response from stripe.confirmPayment() with payment intent details
stripe.confirmPayment() should be called after the customer enters the card details and clicks the payment button
awesome, thankyou so much. i'll try this. i'm migrating from braintree dropin so its all a little fuxxy atm
