Hi, I'm afraid this is not possible, https://stripe.com/guides/tax-guides. However, I'll share your feedback with your product team for future product reiterations.
Thanks, can you point me to the specific guide that states this?
We don't document this but we document the usage we have above which using Stripe Tax independently is not on the list
I don't follow unfortunately. Is there somewhere in the terms of service that states this, or is it just implied?
If it were offered, we'd document this here, https://stripe.com/guides/tax-guides along with the other guides.
Got it, that makes sense. Would you recommend TaxJar in this case then?
This is on stripe.com/tax
Ah, let me confirm. Sorry for the confusion
I was wrong, thank you for pushing back.
I was able to confirm that you're right: https://docs.stripe.com/tax/connect
Thanks!
I'm seeing that this only applies to connected Stripe accounts. How would I use this for one of our users that processes payments with Authorize.net for example?
๐ Stepping in for my teammate
I think you can use Tax Calculations for this: https://docs.stripe.com/tax/custom
You'd get to step 2/calculate tax but everything after that would happen outside of Stripe
How would we handle the business address? We support businesses that hold the liability
The registrations, actually.
I believe the business would still have to create a connected account with you (in order to add registrations) but no payments related to their business would be completed on Stripe
Ok thanks, the language in the screenshot above is very confusing then
