Hi, you can attempt to confirm it only a couple of times, until it is successful. After that, you can't confirm it again. I am not sure we outline anywhere what's the maximum number of attempts. Why do you need it exactly?

I think that if a setup intent is confirmed multiple times, would we have an issue where a card tester could obtain a few setup intents (legitimately, like a real user when accessing our payment page) and then run script to call the confirm setup API to test cards?

We introduced the limitation exactly for this reason - to beat card testing.

Yes, I also think that Stripe limits the number of confirmations for this. However, suppose a setup intent can be confirmed 5 times, and if a card tester can obtain 10 setup intents, they could potentially test 50 cards, right?
