Specifically, there is a recommendation at the bottom that you can pause both payments and payouts for Connect Accounts.

I think that is preferred to rejecting first, investigating later

That's what I was thinking, but I couldn't figure out how to pause an account from the API

And I saw a conversation here (from today actually) stating that it's not possible. That is has to be done from the dashboard.
