As you can see, the unused 10 units are not subtracted as they did not incur any costs in the initial subscription

hi! I think that's normal, proration is only calculated on what was actually paid and not the pre-discount amounts.

not 100% sure, it's a complex area so I'd need to talk to people who are more subject-matter-experts on Subs than me

If that's supposed to be how it works, is there a way to manually subtract the unused time with the pre-discount amount?

you can always disable our own proration entirely with proration_behavior:none , calculate your own logic, and add manual InvoiceItems for those amounts, instead.
