Previous issue summary: line item invoice reads "Trial period for ..." despite customer locale being set to not English
hi! I don't think so no, you can't change the description on items that are generated
really I would just write to https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true to complain/raise feedback that it should be localised since it's clearly our problem. This was broken for years for the "Remaining time on" item descriptions and I would have hoped we fixed the 'trial period' text too but perhaps it was missed
I see.. that's very unfortunate
thank you! I'll raise it to support
so there is no way for me to fix this on my side? Even generating the items/invoices manually or something similar wouldn't be possible?
well you could generate an invoice manually but then you wouldn't be using Subscriptions or our trial periods so I don't see that as a solution
the only thing that might work is updating the description during the 1-hour period an invoice is editable(https://docs.stripe.com/billing/invoices/subscription#subscription-renewal), but that does not apply to the first invoice of a subscription(where you would have a trial period usually) so again, not a great workaround.
That would be enough for me, I'd just hide/ignore the 0-invoices and if I can edit the upcoming invoice that would be worth it for me
So after a subscription renews, in the first hour after renewal I can modify the invoice item description? But that would also only work once the subscription actually renews right, so I can't modify upcoming invoices?
