HI @eager scaffold let me take a look at this.

#

Thanks for waiting, The Refund doesn't have a dedicated property for remarks, and yes you can use metadata to store it if you need to.

#

The Dashboard saves the remarks in its own storage, and there's no public API to acecss it.

Great, under which metadata key/property should I stick it? If I include remarks using the UI as per the above screenshot it shows up in the dashboard like so:

Yes you are right. If you want to surface the remarks in PaymentIntent Dashbaord, set the remarks as the metadata to the PaymentIntent object.

Ok, unfortunately I'm just creating Charge objects in my application, without explicitly creating PaymentIntent objects. When I retrieve the charge for the screenshot above, for example, it has a null value in the payment_intent field. So I'm not sure I can attach the note there...

Bottom line is that I just want to make sure we're providing full context about the refund (reason why it's marked as fraudulent) in order to minimize the chance of having our account flagged or banks rejecting the refund or something. Do you know how the Refund remark from the dashboard UI is used in the backend refunding process? Maybe I just shouldn't worry about it?

If you are using Charges API, you can also set the metadata to the charge object and it'll surface in Dashboard.

Ok, but is the charge object metadata used by Stripe or the banks in any way? Or is that just for our own internal reference?

Ok, is the note that the Dashboard saves in its own storage processed by the issuer? Or is it just for our own internal reference?

Just for your reference.
