What do you mean "Add a real credit terminal"?

trying to test a stripe connect terminal
Stripe Connect and Stripe Terminal are two different Stripe products. Can you clarify what you are talking about?

I have a platform that allows stripe connect customers to connect to my application (ecommerce). They have stripe credit card terminals. I need to test a stripe credit card terminal as a stripe connect platform user. I can create a connect account (screenshot). But once I create the connect account, I can "View Dashboard" as that account. After viewing, I click on the terminal link. I don't have an option to add a reader here

You are creating Standard Accounts, right?

THis modal took me to a stripe connect create page and I clicked on "Skip Form"

that returned me back to Stripe dashboard, and then "View Dashboard" as that account

This is all within the test environment

In a Standard Connect scenario, the Standard Account would be the one to request a terminal reader. You, as the platform, cannot do that for them

In your flow, do your users already have Stripe Accounts and their own readers?

yes they do

we are investigating a bug, so we bought our own reader, and i'm trying to reproduce

In that case you would want to create a new stand alone Stripe Account with it's own reader and connect to your platform. All of this can be done in Test mode
