Use this test payment method that declines after being attached to a Customer: 4000000000000341
Oh. I don't know how I never noticed that one ๐
It's kind of hiding under a much bigger table of test cards, so it's easy to miss
So follow-up question: if all of the cards in previous list can't be attached to customer, is there another way I can use them somehow via the API to test things?
or are those other ones just meant to be used in like, checkout page or billing portal
Those are mostly for failing initial payments in Checkout, Payment Element, etc. For Payment Methods being used on recurring payments, it's pretty much on the one test card I mentioned that can be used for failing payments on existing Subscription flows that require a Payment Method be attached before payment
perfect, that was the main piece missing from testing standpoint. Thanks!
Sure thing!
Hm, I just deleted my customer payment method, then attached the pm_card_chargeCustomerFail (via the API) and advanced subscription clock by 1 month plus 1 day. But the payment succeeded with that test card
Oh, could be an issue because my subscription clock was already on that customer maybe
Actually, it always succeeds with that card. I don't understand
Hello
Taking over here... Give me a moment to catch up
Never mind, I figured it out. My product was $0.00 so it was always succeeding
Ah that's great, sorry things are running a bit busy this afternoon
