how do I submit my scanned gov issued photo ID.
"but this community is focused on developers and technical discussions" ...
I AM A DEVELOPER, trying to stand up my discord application. blocked by a stripe-powered verification step.
I'm not really sure how this workflow counts as a technical integration error. You've provided no error messages, repro steps, or technical details. I still don't even know what you're trying to do.
You have a photo ID, so click the button and submit it.
It wants a camera. I have no camera. There shall be no cameras involved.
What I do have is a scanned gov issued photo ID.
That or stripe-discord waive that verification step.
Either one is satisfactory.
As far as I know, you have to have a camera to scan the ID.
So y'all are holding my project hostage over that issue. Not being able or willing to receive my JPG file.
As far as I know (again, keep in mind just because we're developers doesn't mean we know everything), the camera requirement is a security protocol to make it harder for people to use stolen identities. There's no shortage of cameras on devices nowadays, so there's not really a good reason not to enforce that requirement.
Sure I appreciate that. But it still does not help me upload my legitimate photo ID.
My app ID is 1257775163257258065.
Again, we can't really help you here. First off, you're talking about Discord's verification workflow. They partner with Stripe, but we don't have any context on your app ID or anything like that. We don't work for Discord. Secondly, this isn't a developer conversation. You can't code your way out of this problem, so we're severly limited in the support we can provide.
Do you have any contact clues, links, etc, for who I might have success resolving the matter? Because any of the links are forwarding me to either "Stripe proper" channels. Or roundabouts referring me here.
Our support folks are the only ones that could potentially help, but (again) you're probably not going to be able to get around the camera requirement: https://support.stripe.com/contact

Fair enough, I appreciate your effort.
