I am trying to get all the transactions linked to a payout
I tried the following code:
client.stripe.BalanceTransaction.list(payout='po_1PYCMyBD9A55uQT0gkQ9fU29', expand=['data.source']) but Stripe tells me they cannot finde the payout
the payout was created by one of our connected accounts from a client to an external account

You have to make the request on this account instead: acct_1FPDjbBD9A55uQT0
Just make the same request with the stripe-account header set to that Account ID via one of these methods: https://docs.stripe.com/connect/authentication

just to better understand, instant payout are considered "manual payouts"?

As far as I know, Instant payouts can only ever be initiated manually either via the Dashboard or API: https://docs.stripe.com/payouts/instant-payouts
