Well when you call the delete endpoint (like this: https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/logs/req_lCd9IO1jvlcGW1) it's cancelled immediately, not at the end of the billing period
If your intention is to cancel at end of billing period, you'd instead update the subscription and set cancel_at_period_end: true: https://docs.stripe.com/billing/subscriptions/cancel#cancel-at-the-end-of-the-current-billing-cycle

ok so I must ONLY update subscription with field cancel_at_period_end: true correct?

Yes, and then we'll auto the cancellation at the end of the period. customer.subscription.updated will fire initially, and then *.deleted at the end of the period: https://docs.stripe.com/billing/subscriptions/cancel#events
