๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome to your new thread!

โฒ๏ธ We'll be here soon! We typically respond in a few minutes, but in some cases we might need a bit more time (e.g., server's busy, you've got a complex question, etc.).

โฑ๏ธ We close idle threads, which makes them read-only. Once a thread is closed it won't be reopened, but you can start a new thread if you have another question.

๐Ÿ”— This thread will always be available, even after it's closed. You can find it again using Discord's search, or you can save this link: https://discord.com/channels/841573134531821608/1255159781560422521

We wish we could help, but you need to talk to Stripe support

We can only help on Discord if all of the following are true:

  • ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป You must be a developer
  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Your question must be about building a Stripe integration
  • โš™๏ธ Your question must be technical/developer focused
  • โฑ๏ธ You must be available to respond in realtime
  • ๐Ÿ‘ฅ You must be comfortable receiving help in public (this is a public server)

If any of those aren't true please contact Stripe support.

If all of those are true we may have misunderstood your question; please provide more details below.

Note that using an inappropriate button or submitting inappropriate information is a violation of our rules. You will be removed from this server if you repeatedly create invalid threads.

As said, I cannot get past Level 1 support, they think I'm talking about a currency account but I'm not

If this is happening when trying to set up your bank account in the dashboard, you'll need to contact support

#

I suggest using the email submit option so you can share more examples and screenshot, eg

Alright, thanks, to the best of your knowledge (just so that I'm not wasting my time pursuing this), if I have a Swedish account in SEK (IBAN starts with SE, all Swedish banks would treat it as a national transfer, all danish banks would treat it as an international transfer), is the expected behaviour that Stripe would treat this as a local payment or that Stripe would simply look at the reciever bank's legally registered country (Denmark) and therefore treat it as an international payment (it does this now)?

#

Because right now it seems like it just looks at the banks country of origin and that's it, which in my (limited) knowledge is a bug as that would mean that some local payments would be charged extra even though it's not at the bank level, while some international would be charged as national and occur no extra charges

#

I think this is a scenario Stripe didn't account for, as the error message says "The country you specified for the bank account: SE, does not match the country of the bank account number: DK." even though the IBAN is 'SE'

I'm familiar with "reciever bank's legally registered country" but if that means the account is DK-based it might not be usable

#

But this would be something to clarify with support

Yes, you're right, and I can add it as it starts with 'SE', but only if I select 'Denmark' as the country even though it's a Swedish account. I'll take it up with support

I think traditionally bank origin = bank account's country, but now with neo banks, it's no longer the case

I understand where Stripe is coming from, the IBAN starts with 'SE', and a transfer to/from it would in-fact be a national transfer if to/from a Swedish bank, but still, the BIC is a Danish one

Gotcha, thanks for explaining. Yes, seems like something for us to either fix or clarify restrictions.
