@stark berry That's not possible to do for ACH Debit today if there's no balance in the connected account I think. I'd recommend discussing this with our support team directly for further help: https://support.stripe.com/contact

bummer. And so debit_negative_balances to true doesn't actually help withthis?

#

And two more q's while I have you..

  1. do you know the cadence at which it attempts to clear the negative balance?

If Stripe hasn’t already attempted to debit a connected account’s external account for a negative balance, you can set debit_negative_balances to true to allow Stripe to automatically do so.

  1. Stripe support told me about a month ago that there was dev work in process to handle ACH holdover and auto-retry refunds when funds were made available (same as credit cards). Do you know the ETA for this?

ok, thanks

Does Stripe have any best practice recommendations to enable "instant" refunds for credit card and ACH debit payments on connected accounts?

I'd recommend talking to our support team. Those questions are all related and they are better answered by them directly sorry

ok, I've been talking with them as well, but they seem equally unsure how it all works with no recommendations for how to proceed.

Hi 👋

My colleague had to step away some I'm taking over. Unfortunately our recommendation remains the same.

I recommend being as detailed as you can and try to be very crisp and clear. It helps our Support staff route your ask to the correct team
