Sounds like there is some issue with your API key getting cached or something happening so that it isn't provided when you initialize Stripe

But really there isn't much I can help with here -- this is a server issue for you and the error message is clear on what the issue is.

the error message is not clear as the code was working and wasn't changes so the api key is being provided

Yeah sorry that's not how it works. The error message doesn't just get thrown for no reason.

Just because you haven't changed your code doesn't mean there isn't something on your side that is changing each time your server runs
