Hi there!
Good, hope you're doing well outside of the error above ๐
ahahaha yeah
Since working with raw card numbers requires a higher level of PCI compliance, additional review is required by our support team: https://support.stripe.com/questions/enabling-access-to-raw-card-data-apis
Ahhh gotcha
I recommend reaching out to them and mention that you're hoping to work with raw card numbers in test mode; this shouldn't require proof of compliance.
is this something new that has been added?
I just started work on this project last month
That said, keep in mind that if you want to be able to do the same in live mode, you'll need to show proof of compliance
Relatively new, yes.
and two days ago I was tasked with seeing if the Stripe was working and tested and saw that it was not
gotcha
what does the proof of compliance mean? is that smth I need to get signed off by the project lead?
Test mode won't require it but if you want the same functionality in live mode, I highly recommend sharing the link above with the project lead so they're aware of the compliance requirements. There's a PCI questionnaire you'll need to fill out/attest to that goes into detail about how you're keeping payment details secure
gotcha gotcha thank you so much for the info
Sure thing!
You'll need to sign in on the top right
should I get the manager to sign in and he can access it ?
oohhh gotcha yeah I dont have access to the stripe account
and then when you sign in, can they do it directly from there?
or you can fill out this form: https://support.stripe.com/contact/email
You'll still need to complete additional authentication when working with the support team/before they enable the feature so it may be best for the individual with access to the account to start this
Yep, that's right
I will say that it's not too common for newer integrations to need this since most will use Stripe.js, Elements, or other Stripe-hosted forms to work with secure payments information instead of taking on the additional PCI responsibilities
Yeah I believe that the main goal of this project is to get things done ASAP so i think this might be the route he decides to go but I will def let him know about it
