Yes you can, and I'd suggest you to use PKDeferredPaymentRequest Merchant token types, details in https://docs.stripe.com/apple-pay/merchant-tokens?pay-element=ece#merchant-token-types

so you meant if we would like to use ApplePay Payment Methods for future payment intents, we have to add the merchant tokens?
is that correct?

It's not mandatory, but highly recommended, so that the relevant charge information is displayed in the Apple Paymentsheet. For instance, if you use PKDeferredPaymentRequest and set deferredPaymentDate to 2025-01-05, the Apple Pay Paymentsheet will tell your customer that they'll be charged on 2025-01-05 for X amount.
