@dawn yacht yeah you can set metadata before calling the Cancel Subscription API, that should work fine

Now taking a step back: what exactly are you trying to figure out?

Like whether you called the Cancel Subscription API, or if we canceled automatically after too many retries?

No, I think that scenario is mentioend in the docs. However, we have an "invite" system that allows users to pay for other's subscriptions, so we need to be able to tell the difference between a user hitting the "cancel subscription" button and a user accecpting another user's offer to take a seat on their subscription
