Hello do you have a test page that I can see this behavior on?
The above one is the screenshot of the button
I mean a live page. The full PayPal button is still showing on other pages, so it looks like this issue isn't happening across the board
https://4242.io/test/express-checkout-element/
https://docs.stripe.com/elements/express-checkout-element
we don't have a test page, other sites require vpn
I have this error in the console...is this something related?
Yep, we do use the paypal sandbox so that could be relevant. From a quick google search it looks like that may be adblock related but this interaction is outside of Stripe's code so I am not sure https://stackoverflow.com/questions/23341765/getting-neterr-blocked-by-client-error-on-some-ajax-calls
Have you checked to see what about that element is cut in half? Like is the iframe half of its normal height? Or is it full height and the button is only partially loaded?
Is your css or elements code doing anything to set that as the style?
we are not doing any custom styles on this
And if you check the style for the iframe a couple levels up, that still shows the normal height that is not 28 px?
yeah..it has the normal height
I am wondering what happened just now,,,it was fine 30 min before
and it works fine in firefox
Have you tried reloading your page without cache? And are you seeing this across devices in Chrome?
Gotcha, and do those same devices see the full or half PayPal button on the demo page that I linked to earlier?
https://4242.io/test/express-checkout-element/
Interesting. I will consult my colleagues on this and get back to you.
awesome..thanks
Do you see this same thing in incognito mode? I am wondering if this is an interaction with a plugin for your browser. We can look in to and fix that if so, just trying to isolate the issue
yeah..same in incognito
and if you do zoom in and out multiple times, then it will changes the height
don't you have any issue in chrome?
My colleague can also see this issue and is looking in to it in their browser. Will get back to you with what we can find
thanks...
It started just about 1hr/30 min before...and also I think it is only in the development envs...sharing my thoughts just incase if useful
Gotcha, thank you for the report. We are still trying to diagnose this internally so that we can address it
okay...Please keep me updated with your findings
Have you seen this in live mode or just test mode so far?
so far in the test mode
I checked our production site and looks fine
may be I can check again now
Yes please, that would be much appreciated
Hello! I'm taking over and catching up...
We're investigating this now. Several of us can reproduce the issue, but only sometimes. It seems to be an intermittent/partial occurance.
We think it's related to a gradual rollout of some kind, which is why some people are seeing it all the time, others are seeing it sometimes, and others still aren't seeing it at all.
oh...I checked it from one of my colleague's machines as well, and I can see the issue there...it is happening only on Chrome and chrome based browsers....and it started today after noon only
Please let me know if there is any update on this
We've determined it's an issue on PayPal's end and have reached out to them.
Me too!
Would be great if you can keep me posted here about the updates...thanks
There's no news or updates yet, but this is a visual bug only. It's not stopping people from paying with PayPal or anything like that.
Yeah, it is only a visual bug...but the user can not see the label on button....and user won't be able to understand this is for paypal
Hi there, just wanted to pop in and let you know that we've upstreamed the issue to PayPal and we're waiting to hear back from them. It's out of our hands at this point, but we're hoping to hear back from them soon, though no ETA has been given.
With this sort of variable timeline, we can't keep this Discord thread open, as it seems PayPal may not have an immediate resolution for us. If you want us to update you on the progress please:
- write into support at https://support.stripe.com/contact/email
- link this Discord thread and provide a brief summary in your email so that the frontline agents can escalate your thread to someone who can keep you updated on the status of the issue
