Hi, let me help you with this.

#

If you want pay out funds via Stripe to your users they will need to be a registered business, so all the onboarding steps are required. Custom doesn't really solve this problem.

Thanks @primal garnet . The examples that I mentioned (Substack, Thinkific or Givebutter) seem to be using workflows that support individual users rather than registered businesses. Are these examples maybe a "grandfathered-in" thing or an "everything's changing in June and this will no longer be possible" thing?

Not sure what you mean by this.

Thanks again @primal garnet. I appreciate your time on this. I'm wondering how it is that the three companies mentioned above (Substack, Thinkific or Givebutter) are able to implement Stripe Connect in a manner that appears to support onboarding for individuals who are not registered businesses. By "grandfathered in" I'm suggesting that they may have access to a different UX by virtue of being early adopters of the Stripe Connect product. By "everything's changind in June and this will no longer be possible" I mean that it's my understanding that in an effort to further combat fraud Stripe has recently increased the burden of regulatory compliance for Stripe Connect end users. My understanding is that there's a deadline tied to that transitional work that falls in the month of June which has me wondering if the exceptional workflows that I mentioned previously are perhaps shortlived as Stripe works to bring all connect users into a new state of compliance for that upcoming deadline.

More than anything I want to confirm that there's no possible route forward for me to emulate these existing Stripe Connect onboarding workflows. If that's the case we'll adjust our strategy accordingly and move on.
