@willow sundial you would call the Update SubscriptionSchedule API and pass the new phases that you want for the new Price.
It's impossible to change past Invoices they were already finalized and issued, they can't be changed

Let say I increase the price for all the phases i.e. past and due ; would the update pass on the additional amount to the future phases by itself? Or is this something I need to determine by calculation and add the difference to the new phases?
When you update a SubscriptionSchedule you basically replace all the future phases. There's no "delta" or "difference". You just tell us what you want the SubscriptionSchedule to do moving forward, so you pass the new Price(s) id(s) for each future phase.
