From some quick testing on my end, it looks like that when you cancel/exit from the modal the Promise from calling confirmPayment resolves with the Payment Intent still in a status of requires_action. You could probably leverage that so that you reset your submit button to no longer be loading if confirmPayment resolves and check the status of the Payment Intent
