Thanks koopjah. When I test this - in test mode - I am not getting an email from Stripe asking to verify. Does this happen right away or are there any settings I need to be aware of to make it happen?

We don't send emails in Test mode

So yeah unfortunately you can't see the email but it works the way you described https://docs.stripe.com/payments/ach-debit#mandate-and-microdeposit-emails
