i also notice that neither of these resolve to anything, which seems like a problem but I'm not sure.

Just the "custom-email-domain" part. You still need the .stripe.com part

so it's fine that these addresses don't actually resolve to anything yet? normally when you point a CNAME at something, it should resolve

I'm not certain how that's built under the hood. Recommend trying to add with your custom domain name replaced and see if that works

i also am having trouble getting into my account. it's an older account and I was invited in. account was inactive. offered ID-based verify or other, I did other and answered the questions except one was about "most recent transaction" which I don't have so I put 0. it said it was going to send me a link, but it sent one that was invalid, then said it was going to send another, which it never did.

just tried hitting back and logging in again and it repeated that it's sending me a link but I don't think it's working, hasn't arrived.
