Hi there!

agile heart
#

hello!

violet owl
#

It's not possible to set a description when calling /finalize or /pay. You'll need to set a description by updating the Invoice separately or when creating the Invoice

agile heart
#

and that description is different from the payment description right? like on the payment page

violet owl
#

What payment page exactly?

agile heart
#

when a user calls pay, id like that description to have a custom description**, where i map the product names, like i do in the bottom example, but the bottom exmaple uses a payment intent, where i can set description

violet owl
#

the Invoice description is different from the PaymentIntent's description, yes. The /payments page in the Dashboard shows PaymentIntent descriptions

agile heart
#

and when i do this, ``` const finalizedInvoice = await stripe.invoices.finalizeInvoice(invoice.id);

await stripe.invoices.pay(finalizedInvoice.id);``` is that creating a payment intent, that i can modify to add that description

#

or is there no payment intent when useing invoice and pay

violet owl
#

There is a PaymentIntent when finalizing an invoice as long as that invoice is for a non zero amount

#

You'll need to retrieve the Invoice's payment_intent and update that PaymentIntent's description

agile heart
#

gotcha, and then still call pay with the invoice id?

violet owl
#

Yep!

ty!!!
