yes, it was a failed payment but the subscription status wasn't updated to "past_due"

@bitter ridge If you make the same request but end the trial by specifying trial_end a few seconds in the future, I think that will simulate what you want https://docs.stripe.com/api/subscriptions/update#update_subscription-trial_end
