Hello there
We're aware of the issue and are actively working on a resolution
any ideas of an eta on a resolution/rollback?
No ETA as of now. We're working with Google on the issue and they're actively investigating too.
thanks for the update!
any updates on this guys, its been nearly 5hrs outage
Google is still investigating and working on a fix
seems to be isolated to Stripe right? Other providers seem to be working fine
That I can't speak to
you can check the addidas site and google pay shows fine on their cart page
We're still investigating alongside Google's team as well. I'm not sure how long it'll take both teams to resolve this so I recommend opening a ticket with our Support team about this: https://support.stripe.com/contact/
When you open this ticket, let them know you're affected by an issue with GooglePay. They'll follow up via email with any further updates.
I did open a ticket, however the response was the following
Hi John,
Thanks for taking the time to chat with me earlier. It seems that we may have experienced a connection issue during our chat. I just wanted to follow up via this email regarding our previous conversation that we had about the domain verification for Google Pay.
Upon further checking, to use certain payment methods with Elements or Checkout’s embeddable payment form, you must register every web domain that will show the payment method. After you register a domain, that registration applies to additional payment methods that you might add in the future. In addition, it appears that Google Pay requires domain verification.
You may also refer to our documentation here:
https://docs.stripe.com/payments/payment-methods/pmd-registration
Please let me know if you have more questions regarding this concern. We'll be on the lookout for your response.
Should you have any questions or concerns moving forward, please feel free to reply directly to this email. I’d be glad to assist you further.
Best,
Patricia
there is no area in the Stripe Dashboard to register a domain for Google Pay
also, why hasnt the stripe status page been updated? https://www.stripestatus.com/
I believe there's no update to Stripe's status page since it's a Google issue. Additional details are being shared with our support teams as well, which is likely why you received the message above. I recommend continuing to discuss with our support team. You can let them know that you chatted with developer support in Discord
As for registration, the team was referring to https://docs.stripe.com/payments/payment-methods/pmd-registration. Previously, this was only used for ApplePay, which is likely where the team got confused
