Hi ๐
The payment element will collect payment method information. That's it
If you need to display custom information you will need to build those features yourself
Being working on this for a few days now. Right now I'm using both Payment and Address elements.
But since the tax calculation can be done with only the country and postal code, and the payment element already gathers that, I was wondering if I can completly remove the address element altogether.
The problem I'm encountering so far is I can't use getValue() on the payment element, which I could on the address element.
For the PaymentElement you want to listen to the change event. https://docs.stripe.com/js/element/events
It will emit the values being entered.
You can check the complete boolean in the value to determine if the customer has finished adding all their info
tried that a few min ago, but the value from the event is just card, no info from country and postal code
Hmmm... let me check
Okay you are correct. This is something you would need the Address Element to listen for.
Good to know! Thank you for the confirmation. A bit of a bummer, would be cool to just use payment in that case and avoid having users enter all of the other fields that we don't really care about.
