I'm guessing you are looking at PaymentIntents? If so you can update their description with the API: https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment_intents/update#update_payment_intent-description

hey, sorry but I am not using PaymentIntents in my code, I am creating an invoice using stripe.invoices.create if the user has a default payment method else a checkout session using stripe.checkout.sessions.create
is this the wrong way? please let me know

but basically you should be able to update the description field of the Invoice or the PaymentIntent or whatever you are looking at with the API.
