You can test this behavior in testmode and see exactly how it will behave. Doing so should allow you to see that you will encounter errors if you try to reference a Price belonging to an inactive/archived Product.

it just that I have a few products that were initially launched with multiple prices on Production and we want to archive them and create new products with single prices, so just wanted to make sure we don't mess things up on Production. that's all. We wanted to see if archiving all the products would be the best option. Is setting the active status to false archive the product?
