Basically, I need a way to relate a session to an order in my system, so metadata seems appropriate. But I have both checkout session (embedded) and payment link, and it doesnt seem like the session is yet created when you create the payment link and thus you cant attach the session metadata to it
or is there some other way to do this?

Hi, you would need to set the metadata on both of the of the objects separately. However, depending on what your're trying to do, you can set the metadat on the Payment Intent, https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment_links/payment_links/create#create_payment_link-payment_intent_data-metadata when you create the Payment Link.

So then Id only need to check paymentintent? As there will always be a paymentintent present?
