I have tried creating refunds using the documentation provided in my last chat. However, Im at a point where I cant get the pending invoice or the customer/subscription to create a refund

Listing Invoices does not give me the charge object for the pending invoice correct?

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "pending invoice", but generally speaking if the Invoice doesn't actually exist yet there won't be a Charge yet, no.

If a pending Invoice doesnt have a charge associated with it how Am I supposed to refund for it using the refund API?

#

This source says that I have to find all invoices and refund them one by one using the charge item. (If I'm understanding that correctly)

This support article is saying that you should refund the Invoices that have already been paid up to the amount you want to refund. Then, the last bullet says to update the Customer's balance back to zero by deleting the pending Invoice Items or by modifying the balance directly.

Ah okay makes more sense now

#

Thanks!

#

One last question

#

What if the charge amount is higher than pending invoice item amount?
For example in my case the last paid invoice was for 99$
However, my pending invoice item is for 97$ (Which is what I need to refund). I cannot refund the paid invoice because it's higher.

You can do a partial refund for the $97.

Okay give it the charge and the amount.

#

Makes sense. Thank you!
