hi! the subscription object is always created immediately yes, even in livemode, that part doesn't change.

it's up to you how to interpret things, even though the subscription is created and stauts:active you might not want to give access to your product until the debit succeeds and you get that async webhook

unfortunately our Subscriptions API doesn't interact well with async payment methods so the statuses don't make much sense
