us_bank_account param expects an object, you're passing a string: https://docs.stripe.com/api/payment_methods/create#create_payment_method-us_bank_account

In any case you shouldn't be creating a Payment Method directly, you should be using a Setup Intent: https://docs.stripe.com/payments/ach-debit/migrations#create-payment-intent

How to create SetupIntent when it requires payment method paremeter and I have only bank account token that comes from Plaid ('btok_1OvxJkFDgkUdCdUXiurbiAzu')

I have everything as it is in this guide: https://plaid.com/docs/auth/partnerships/stripe/ and I end up with that token

You'd create a Bank Account (ba_xxx) first: https://docs.stripe.com/api/customer_bank_accounts/create

Plaid is generally deprecated witrh Payment Methods though. You should be using our native flows now

So I do everything to NOT TO use deprecated sources. This is why I don't want to use Stripe::Customer.create_source

so technically Plaid is no longer supported by stripe?

When client set up bank account through stripe connector - do they need to verify it? Because Plaid gives bank account that is already verified

Yes they'll need to re-verify the bank account. But there's instant verification which is handled in the UI, as opposed to the deposit verification
