You can't update a SetupIntent after it has succeeded.
Have you looked into customer portal to allow customers to update their payment methods?
https://docs.stripe.com/customer-management
that is not really what I was looking for as the users only use stripe in the background and I like to keep everything on my page. So the only way is to remove the old setup intent and create a completely new one for the customer? is that also what your customer management feature is doing?
You don't really remove a SetupIntent.
You can just create a new one and use that to collect new payment method
Depending on how the payment method was set on the subscription, you can either update subscription.default_payment_method OR customer.invoice_settings.default_payment_method
ok sounds good thanks!
