hi! Stripe Apps can call the full public API on accounts (same as Connect extensions can) when you request the appropriate permissions so it works that way

hi, thanks! Will Stripe apps work for me hosting my own website? I need something that's like connect with Stripe so they can link their account on my website to their Stripe account

Or does the Stripe App have to be on the Stripe dashboard

the UI extension part in the Dashboard is optional

I don' think that's true no, install is still done through the marketplace, that's how the user installs the app and you are given access to be able to call the API on their behalf

oh right so I can still use it how I described but for them to connect their stripe account to my service they need to do it by navigating ot the app on stripe app marketplace
