You mean collect the payment using another payment provider and use Stripe only for tracking subscription ?
Could you please share more details with some concrete example ?
Thanks for the response. So our use case is as follows. We're History Hit, and we're looking to bundle our product in with another Subscription provider, Curiosity Stream. The workflow (ideally) would go:
Curisoity Stream ask their subscirbers if they want to subscribe to History Hit. They say yes.
History Hit then import customers into their database without having to pay (as they have already paid via Curiosity Stream).
Can we import these customers into Stripe, atrribute them to a subscription, and create them an account on History Hit?
๐ taking over for my colleague. Let me catch up.
when you say import customers do you mean between the Stripe accounts of Curiosity Stream and History Hit?
So a customer gives us their email address, and we then attribute them a subscription without them having to pay
(sorry for the late reply, was in a meeting)
no worries
but how would you collect the payment method for future billing cycles?
we wouldn't need too because Curiosity Stream would be collecting the payme t
and we have a revenue share with them
then what do you need Stripe for?
Yeah I just answered my own question
